Our club practices at the Fanshawe Yacht Club May through September. The club is located in the campground area of the Upper Thames Conservation Area (Clarke Rd near Huron).
Club Membership fees:
The 2011 annual club membership fee is set at $120.00.
For first time members to the club or returning members registering before the early bird deadline (Feb 28) the fee is $105.00. Members are also required to join Dragon Boat Canada ($22.60 includes HST) and the Fanshawe Yacht Club ($43.00 includes HST). The total for one year is 170.60 until Feb 28, 2011. After that, the total fee is $185.60. There is also an option to purchase a second year of membership to Dragon Boat Canada half price for only $11.30.
There is also a deposit of $20 for a key to the Fanshawe Yacht Club (refundable when returned). All of the above fees may be made payable to the London Dragon Boat Club. See membership forms here.
Team Fees:
Festival competitions are held in various cities and individuals will decide which events they wish to attend. Typical cost per person per event is approximately $ 30.00. Fees are based on festival cost and number of members registered.
Note: The selection of races are up to each team to decide. In addition, there may be other fees that each team may charge. These may include fees for coaching and uniforms etc. Please contact your team captains for further information. If you are not currently on a specific team, please contact us for further information on your options.
Fanshawe Conservation Area:
Entrance into Fanshawe Park is not included in membership. You will need to arrange to carpool in with friends or purchase your own gate pass. Gate pass is $83 for the season (confirmed-2011 rate).
Teams practice most weeknights and saturday mornings from May to October. Winter poolside paddling is also available at Fitness Forum on Thursday evenings. Poolside paddling incurs an additional fee.
